The Joint Surgical Practice was founded by Dr. Dr. Preißner
in 1995. From the very beginning the main endeavour has
been to be able to offer a vast variety of outpatient
and inpatient operations. |
 |
 |
This was implemented in close co-operation with Praxisklinik
Kiel whose building houses the practice. Soon it became
obvious that the practice has been well accepted by the
patients and their general practitioners in the greater
area of Kiel and the surrounding districts. Hence it became
necessary to enlarge the practice constantly in terms
of staff and space.
|
In 1998
the existing spectrum of general surgery and casualty
surgery was extended by the entry of vascular surgeon
Dr. Reusch. In 1999 after extensive reconstruction the
completely new Outpatient Surgical Centre (Ambulantes
Operationszentrum) was opened. In the new millennium another
surgeon, Dr. Schmitz, joined the team. Moreover currently
the staff totals 14 employees, some of them working part-time,
four physicians are trained for further qualification. |

The range of operations offered covers the entire field
of outpatient and inpatient interventions in general,
casualty, and vascular surgery. This offer is complemented
by plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery and proctology.
The practice has a Surgical Emergency Department with
duty hours ending at 10 p.m. seven days a week including
holidays. We are licensed for the treatment of occupational
accidents by the professional associations and comply
with the respective requirements (so-called D-Arztverfahren).
We treat patients of all health insurances. Another field
of activity is the preparation of expertises in the areas
of surgery and casualty surgery for insurances and courts.
The philosophy of our Joint Surgical Practice implies
that we pass on the know-how and skills we acquired. Hence
we provide training in the medical as well as in the non-medical
sector.
The infrastructure in the building of Praxisklinik ensures
that there is "all-round care" for the patients.
All conceivable operations and services of surgical medicine
are offered here. So the patient can be treated, operated
and will find a pharmacy in the same house and Kriwat,
a particularly competent provider of medical and orthopedic
supplies specialised in orthopedic techniques. In addition
the building houses a large physiotherapeutic department
offering also an extended outpatient physiotherapy.
